  • James Brooke (TC ’77)

    President

Jim Brooke grew up in Lenox and graduated from Yale with a degree in Latin American Studies.

After the Berkshires, he traveled the world, reporting from 80 countries, largely as a Foreign Correspondent for The New Times.

In September, he moved back to Lenox from Kyiv, Ukraine, with his wife, Pen Soy, and their son, George. From Lenox, he writes an email newsletter on Ukraine business news and the fortnightly Foreign Affairs column for The Berkshire Eagle.

  • Eric Lederman (MC ’88)

    Vice President

Eric Lederman (MC ’88) grew up in Rochester, NY and graduated from Yale with a degree in Chemistry, yet currently remembers nothing he studied for his major. At Yale, he was active in many musical groups, including the Yale Concert Band, Yale Jazz Ensemble, YPMB, multiple pit orchestras, and a couple of rock bands (he finagled one less tour than our Treasurer, though one was to Japan). He received his MD from Washington University, and was in private practice as a colorectal surgeon in St Louis until retiring earlier this year. Eric, his wife, and 3 dogs now live permanently in Tyringham, in a house where President Grover Cleveland spent the summer of 1901.

  • Paul Mange Johansen (ES ’88)

    Treasurer

Paul Mange Johansen (ES ’88) grew up in Amherst, MA and has enjoyed living in the Berkshires for nearly 15 years. He sang in the Yale Alley Cats and played violin in the Yale Symphony Orchestra, thereby finagling four European tours. He studied Biology, and later earned a Masters Degree in Biostatistics from Boston University. He is currently the Biostatistician at Berkshire Medical Center.
